Monster in a Box, DIY Halloween Haunted House Prop
This is my version of the haunted monster in a box. I wanted to make a frightening prop to use for our haunted forest and this definitely fit the bill.
I saw several designs using programmable electronics and I wanted to make one that uses all AC power so I could avoid having to include expensive power supplies or high maintenance batteries.
The box is constructed out of old pallets. The drive mechanism is a geared motor attached to a wooden cam that I cut from my band-saw.
The motion sensor is a replacement PIR sensor designed to use for outdoor motion security lights. It's just attached directly to an outdoor electrical box and cover.
The sound system is using the MP3 player from an out of service cellphone connected to a computer speaker system. Pretty much any cheap MP3 player and powered speaker system will work as long as they connect together with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. You don't want usb speakers.
Thanks for watching. Enjoy!
